[214] Bhikkhus, here a bhikkhu against whom an act of subordination (niyassakamma) has been carried out by the Saṅgha conducts himself properly, becomes humble (lomaṃ pāteti), behaves in a way deserving of release, and requests the revocation of the act of subordination. In that case, if the bhikkhus think thus: "Friends, this bhikkhu, against whom an act of subordination has been carried out by the Saṅgha, conducts himself properly, has become humble, behaves in a way deserving of release, and requests the revocation of the act of subordination. Come now, let us revoke the act of subordination for him" — they then revoke the act of subordination for him as an incomplete assembly, contrary to Dhamma … as a complete assembly, contrary to Dhamma; as an incomplete assembly, in accordance with Dhamma; as an incomplete assembly, by a semblance of Dhamma; as a complete assembly, by a semblance of Dhamma. The cycle (cakka) should be applied.
