[256] Bhikkhus, there are three further bhikkhus upon whom the Saṅgha, if it wishes, may impose an act of suspension (ukkhepanīyakamma) for not making amends for an offense (āpattiyā appaṭikamme): one speaks dispraise (avaṇṇa) of the Buddha; one speaks dispraise of the Dhamma; one speaks dispraise of the Saṅgha. Upon these three bhikkhus, bhikkhus, the Saṅgha, if it wishes, may impose an act of suspension for not making amends for an offense.
