[255] Bhikkhus, when the Saṅgha so wishes, it may impose an act of suspension (ukkhepanīyakamma) for not making amends for an offence (āpatti) upon three further kinds of bhikkhus: one who is failed in virtue as regards higher virtue (adhisīla); one who is failed in conduct as regards higher conduct (ajjhācāra); one who is failed in view as regards higher view (atidiṭṭhi). Bhikkhus, when the Saṅgha so wishes, it may impose an act of suspension for not making amends for an offence upon these three kinds of bhikkhus.
