[318] "And thus, bhikkhus, should it be revoked. Bhikkhus, the bhikkhu against whom the act of suspension (ukkhepanīyakamma) for not relinquishing a bad view (pāpikā diṭṭhi) has been carried out should approach the Saṅgha, arrange his upper robe over one shoulder, pay homage at the feet of the senior bhikkhus, sit down on his heels, raise his joined palms in reverence, and should say thus:
'Venerable sirs, I, against whom the Saṅgha has carried out the act of suspension for not relinquishing a bad view, am conducting myself properly, have become subdued, and am acting so as to make amends. I request the revocation (paṭippassaddhi) of the act of suspension for not relinquishing a bad view.'
It should be requested a second time. It should be requested a third time.
The Saṅgha should be informed by a competent and capable bhikkhu:
'Venerable sirs, let the Saṅgha listen to me. This bhikkhu named so-and-so, against whom the Saṅgha has carried out the act of suspension for not relinquishing a bad view, is conducting himself properly, has become subdued, is acting so as to make amends, and requests the revocation of the act of suspension for not relinquishing a bad view. If it is the right time for the Saṅgha, the Saṅgha should revoke the act of suspension for not relinquishing a bad view against the bhikkhu named so-and-so. This is the motion (ñatti).
'Venerable sirs, let the Saṅgha listen to me. This bhikkhu named so-and-so, against whom the Saṅgha has carried out the act of suspension for not relinquishing a bad view, is conducting himself properly, has become subdued, is acting so as to make amends, and requests the revocation of the act of suspension for not relinquishing a bad view. The Saṅgha revokes the act of suspension for not relinquishing a bad view against the bhikkhu named so-and-so. Whichever venerable one approves of the revocation of the act of suspension for not relinquishing a bad view against the bhikkhu named so-and-so, let him be silent; whoever does not approve, let him speak.
'A second time I speak on this matter. … A third time I speak on this matter.
'Venerable sirs, let the Saṅgha listen to me. This bhikkhu named so-and-so, against whom the Saṅgha has carried out the act of suspension for not relinquishing a bad view, is conducting himself properly, has become subdued, is acting so as to make amends, and requests the revocation of the act of suspension for not relinquishing a bad view. The Saṅgha revokes the act of suspension for not relinquishing a bad view against the bhikkhu named so-and-so. Whichever venerable one approves of the revocation of the act of suspension for not relinquishing a bad view against the bhikkhu named so-and-so, let him be silent; whoever does not approve, let him speak.
'The act of suspension for not relinquishing a bad view against the bhikkhu named so-and-so has been revoked by the Saṅgha. It is approved by the Saṅgha; therefore it is silent. Thus do I hold it.'"
The Act of Suspension for Not Relinquishing a Bad View, the seventh, is finished.
The Kammakkhandhaka, the first, is finished.
