[380] When he had completed the penance (mānatta), he informed the bhikkhus: "Friends, I committed one offense (āpatti) — intentional emission of semen (sañcetanikā sukkavisaṭṭhi) — which was not concealed. For that one offense of intentional emission of semen, not concealed, I requested from the Saṅgha a penance of six nights. For that one offense of intentional emission of semen, not concealed, the Saṅgha granted me a penance of six nights. I have now completed the penance. How, then, should I proceed?" Those bhikkhus reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Well then, bhikkhus, let the Saṅgha rehabilitate (abbhāna) the bhikkhu Udāyi."
