[439] The Saṅgha should be informed by a competent and capable bhikkhu: "Venerable sirs, let the Saṅgha listen to me. This bhikkhu Udāyi committed one offense (āpatti) of intentional emission of semen (sañcetanikā sukkavisaṭṭhi), concealed for a fortnight. He asked the Saṅgha for a fortnight's probation (pakkhaparivāsa) on account of that one offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for a fortnight. The Saṅgha granted the bhikkhu Udāyi a fortnight's probation on account of that one offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for a fortnight. While undergoing probation, he committed in the interim one offense of intentional emission of semen, concealed for five days. He asked the Saṅgha to be sent back to the beginning (mūlāya paṭikassana) on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. The Saṅgha sent the bhikkhu Udāyi back to the beginning on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. He asked the Saṅgha for a combined probation (samodhānaparivāsa) together with the former offense, on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. The Saṅgha granted the bhikkhu Udāyi a combined probation together with the former offense, on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. Having completed the probation and being worthy of mānatta, he committed in the interim one offense of intentional emission of semen, concealed for five days. He asked the Saṅgha to be sent back to the beginning on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. The Saṅgha sent the bhikkhu Udāyi back to the beginning on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. He asked the Saṅgha for a combined probation together with the former offense, on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. The Saṅgha granted the bhikkhu Udāyi a combined probation together with the former offense, on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. Having completed the probation, he asked the Saṅgha for six nights' mānatta on account of the three offenses. The Saṅgha granted the bhikkhu Udāyi six nights' mānatta on account of the three offenses. While undergoing mānatta, he committed in the interim one offense of intentional emission of semen, concealed for five days. He asked the Saṅgha to be sent back to the beginning on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. The Saṅgha sent the bhikkhu Udāyi back to the beginning on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. He asked the Saṅgha for a combined probation together with the former offense, on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. The Saṅgha granted the bhikkhu Udāyi a combined probation together with the former offense, on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. Having completed the probation, he asked the Saṅgha for six nights' mānatta on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. The Saṅgha granted the bhikkhu Udāyi six nights' mānatta on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. Having observed mānatta and being worthy of rehabilitation (abbhāna), he committed in the interim one offense of intentional emission of semen, concealed for five days. He asked the Saṅgha to be sent back to the beginning on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. The Saṅgha sent the bhikkhu Udāyi back to the beginning on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. He asked the Saṅgha for a combined probation together with the former offense, on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. The Saṅgha granted the bhikkhu Udāyi a combined probation together with the former offense, on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. Having completed the probation, he asked the Saṅgha for six nights' mānatta on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. The Saṅgha granted the bhikkhu Udāyi six nights' mānatta on account of that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days. Having observed mānatta, he asks the Saṅgha for rehabilitation. If it is the right time for the Saṅgha, let the Saṅgha rehabilitate the bhikkhu Udāyi. This is the motion (ñatti). "Venerable sirs, let the Saṅgha listen to me. This bhikkhu Udāyi committed one offense of intentional emission of semen, concealed for a fortnight … Having observed mānatta, he asks the Saṅgha for rehabilitation. The Saṅgha rehabilitates the bhikkhu Udāyi. To whichever venerable one the rehabilitation of the bhikkhu Udāyi is agreeable, let him be silent; to whomever it is not agreeable, let him speak. "For the second time I speak on this matter … "For the third time I speak on this matter … "The bhikkhu Udāyi has been rehabilitated by the Saṅgha. It is agreeable to the Saṅgha; therefore it is silent. Thus I hold it." The (case of) emission of semen is concluded.
