Niyasakamma

[73] Bhikkhus, the Saṅgha, if it wishes, may impose an act of demotion (niyassakamma) on three further kinds of bhikkhus: one is failed in virtue (sīlavipanna) with regard to higher virtue (adhisīla); one is failed in conduct (ācāravipanna) with regard to higher conduct (ajjhācāra); one is failed in view (diṭṭhivipanna) with regard to higher view (atidiṭṭhi). On these three kinds of bhikkhus, bhikkhus, the Saṅgha, if it wishes, may impose an act of demotion.
