[472] Which are the two legitimate (dhammika) suspensions of the Pātimokkha (pātimokkhaṭṭhapana)? One suspends the Pātimokkha on account of a failure in virtue (sīlavipatti) that is grounded; one suspends the Pātimokkha on account of a failure in conduct (ācāravipatti) that is grounded. These are the two legitimate suspensions of the Pātimokkha.
