[485] Which are the nine suspensions of the Pātimokkha (pātimokkhaṭṭhapana) that are not in accordance with Dhamma? One suspends the Pātimokkha on account of a groundless failure in virtue (sīlavipatti) that has not been committed; one suspends the Pātimokkha on account of a groundless failure in virtue that has been committed; one suspends the Pātimokkha on account of a groundless failure in virtue that has been both committed and not committed; one suspends the Pātimokkha on account of a groundless failure in conduct (ācāravipatti) that has not been committed; one suspends the Pātimokkha on account of a groundless failure in conduct that has been committed; one suspends the Pātimokkha on account of a groundless failure in conduct that has been both committed and not committed; one suspends the Pātimokkha on account of a groundless failure in view (diṭṭhivipatti) that has not been committed; one suspends the Pātimokkha on account of a groundless failure in view that has been committed; one suspends the Pātimokkha on account of a groundless failure in view that has been both committed and not committed.
