[472] "The pārājika, on account of boasting of a superhuman state (uttarimanussadhamma) that is non-existent and unreal — where was it laid down?" — "It was laid down at Vesālī." — "Concerning whom?" — "Concerning the bhikkhus dwelling on the bank of the Vaggumudā." — "On what ground?" — "On the ground that the bhikkhus dwelling on the bank of the Vaggumudā spoke in praise of one another's superhuman states to householders."
There is one laying down (paññatti) and one supplementary laying down (anupaññatti). Of the six origins of offenses, it arises through three origins: it may arise from body and mind (citta), not from speech; it may arise from speech and mind, not from body; it may arise from body, speech, and mind.
