[577] "Where was the offense entailing expiation (pācittiya) laid down for a bhikkhunī living in close association (saṃsaṭṭhā) who, on being formally admonished (samanubhāsanā) up to the third time, does not relinquish [her course]?" — "It was laid down at Sāvatthī." — "Concerning whom?" — "Concerning the bhikkhunī Caṇḍakālī." — "In what matter?" — "In the matter of the bhikkhunī Caṇḍakālī living in close association." There is one laying down (paññatti). Of the six origins of offenses (āpattisamuṭṭhāna), it arises through one origin (as in the Samanubhāsanā [rule]).
