Tuvaṭṭavagga

Vinayapiṭaka · Parivāra · Vol. 8 · Section 580

[580] "Where was the offense entailing expiation (pācittiya) for a bhikkhunī who goes wandering on tour during the rains laid down?" "It was laid down at Rājagaha." "With reference to whom?" "With reference to several bhikkhunīs." "Concerning what matter?" "Concerning the matter that several bhikkhunīs went wandering on tour during the rains." There is one laying down (paññatti). Of the six origins of offenses (āpattisamuṭṭhāna), it arises through two origins (as in the Eḷakaloma rule). [Footnote #1 in source: the Burmese and European editions read "(dhuranikkhepe)" — "(as in the rule on throwing off responsibility)".]

English translation from the Pali (Siam Raṭṭha edition) — under review, not for citation.
