[620] "Where was the offense entailing expiation (pācittiya) laid down for a bhikkhunī who gives ordination (vuṭṭhāpeti) to a trainee nun (sikkhamānā) who consorts with men, consorts with youths, who is violent, and who is a source of sorrow?" — "It was laid down at Sāvatthī." "With reference to whom?" — "With reference to the bhikkhunī Thullanandā." "Concerning what matter?" — "Concerning the matter that the bhikkhunī Thullanandā gave ordination to a trainee nun who consorted with men, consorted with youths, who was violent, and who was a source of sorrow." There is one laying down (paññatti). Of the six origins of offenses, this arises through three origins.
