[487] A woman protected by punishment (saparidaṇḍā) sends a bhikkhu: "Go, venerable sir, say to the man of such-and-such a name: 'I will be the wife of the man of such-and-such a name — one bought with money (dhanakkītā), one living together by choice (chandavāsinī), one living together for wealth (bhogavāsinī), one living together for cloth (paṭavāsinī), one married by the water-bowl ceremony (odapattakinī), one whose head-pad has been set down (obhaṭacumbaṭā), one who is both a slave and a wife (dāsī ca bhariyā), one who is both a servant and a wife (kammakārī ca bhariyā), one carried off under the flag (dhajāhaṭā), and a momentary wife (muhuttikā).'" He accepts, he examines the matter, he brings back the reply: an offence entailing a formal meeting of the Saṅgha (saṅghādisesa).
