[295] Bhikkhus, there are these five aggregates subject to clinging (pañc'upādānakkhandhā). What five? Namely: the aggregate subject to clinging of form (rūpa) … the aggregate subject to clinging of consciousness (viññāṇa).
Bhikkhus, whatever ascetics or brahmins do not understand as it really is (yathābhūta) the origin (samudaya) and the passing away (atthaṅgama), the gratification (assāda), the danger (ādīnava), and the escape (nissaraṇa) in regard to these five aggregates subject to clinging … understand … "having realized it for themselves with direct knowledge (abhiññā), they dwell having entered upon it."
