[1581] "Nandaka, a noble disciple (ariyasāvaka) who possesses four things is a stream-enterer (sotāpanna), no longer subject to downfall, fixed in destiny, with full awakening as his destination. Which four? Here, Nandaka, a noble disciple possesses confirmed confidence (aveccappasāda) in the Buddha: 'Thus indeed is that Blessed One … teacher of devas and humans, awakened, blessed.' In the Dhamma … In the Saṅgha … He possesses the virtues dear to the noble ones—unbroken … conducive to concentration (samādhi). A noble disciple who possesses these four things, Nandaka, is a stream-enterer, no longer subject to downfall, fixed in destiny, with full awakening as his destination."
