[539] And what, bhikkhus, is the denourishment (anāhāra) that prevents unarisen doubt from arising, and prevents arisen doubt from increasing and expanding? There are, bhikkhus, dhammas that are wholesome and unwholesome, dhammas that are blameworthy and blameless, dhammas that are inferior and superior, dhammas that are dark and bright with their counterparts: frequently giving wise attention (yoniso manasikāra) to them—this is the denourishment that prevents unarisen doubt from arising, and prevents arisen doubt from increasing and expanding.
