[234] An ordained one (upasampanna), desiring to jeer at, desiring to disparage, desiring to put to shame an ordained one, addresses the exalted with what is low — [saying to] one who is wise, competent, intelligent, learned, a speaker of Dhamma: "You are a camel, you are a ram, you are an ox, you are a donkey, you are an animal, you are a hell-being; there is no good destination (sugati) for you; only a bad destination (duggati) is to be expected for you" — there is an offense (āpatti) of pācittiya for each and every utterance.
