[235] An ordained one (upasampanna), desiring to revile (khuṃsetukāmo), desiring to disparage, desiring to humiliate an ordained one, speaks of the low by means of the high — [addressing one who is] a camel, a ram, an ox, a donkey, an animal, a hell-being — saying: "You are wise, you are competent, you are intelligent, you are learned, you are a speaker of Dhamma; for you there is no bad destination (duggati); only a good destination (sugati) is to be expected for you" — there is an offense of pācittiya for each utterance.
