[236] One who is fully ordained (upasampanna), desiring to insult, desiring to disparage, desiring to humiliate one who is fully ordained, speaks to the exalted with exalted terms — that is, to one who is wise, competent, intelligent, learned, a speaker of the Dhamma — saying: "You are wise, you are competent, you are intelligent, you are learned, you are a speaker of the Dhamma; there is no bad destination for you, only a good destination is to be expected for you." There is an offense of pācittiya for each and every utterance.
