[243] One who is fully ordained (upasampanno), desiring to jeer at, desiring to disparage, desiring to humiliate one who is not fully ordained (anupasampanna), speaks of one who is low with what is low … speaks of one who is high with what is low … speaks of one who is low with what is high … speaks of one who is high with what is high — that is, to one who is wise, competent, intelligent, learned, a speaker on the Dhamma, he says: "You are wise, you are competent, you are intelligent, you are learned, you are a speaker on the Dhamma; there is no bad destination for you; only a good destination is to be expected for you" — there is an offense (āpatti) of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa) for each utterance.
