[251] One who is fully ordained (upasampanna), not desiring to jeer at one who is not fully ordained (anupasampanna), not desiring to scorn him, not desiring to put him to shame, but out of a desire for sport, speaks thus — he says: "There are here some who are caṇḍālas, some who are bamboo-workers (veṇa), some who are hunters, some who are cartwrights (rathakāra), some who are refuse-clearers (pukkusa)" … he says: "There are here some who are wise, competent, intelligent, of great learning, speakers of the Dhamma; for them there is no bad destination — only a good destination is to be expected for them": there is an offense of wrong speech (dubbhāsita) for each and every utterance.
