[252] One who is fully ordained (upasampanna), not desiring to abuse one who is not fully ordained (anupasampanna), not desiring to disparage him, not desiring to put him to shame, but out of a desire to jest, speaks in this insinuating manner — he says: "Those who are surely caṇḍālas, bamboo-workers, hunters, cartwrights, refuse-cleaners …" … he says: "Those who are surely wise, competent, intelligent, learned, speakers of the Dhamma …" — there is an offense (āpatti) of wrong speech (dubbhāsita) for each and every utterance.
