[111] Bhikkhus, a bhikkhu who frequents families (kulūpaka), possessing five qualities, is among families unloved and disagreeable, not respected and not esteemed. Which five? He behaves familiarly with those with whom he is not intimate (asanthavavissāsī); he issues directives though he has no authority (anissaravikappī); he consorts with those [of the family] who are at variance (byatthupasevī); he whispers in the ear (upakaṇṇakajappī); and he asks for too much (atiyācanako). Possessing these five qualities, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu who frequents families is among families unloved and disagreeable, not respected and not esteemed.
