[760] Which phenomena (dhammā) are dissociated from hindrances (nīvaraṇa) but subject to hindrances (nīvaraṇiya)? Those phenomena which are dissociated from those phenomena — wholesome and indeterminate phenomena subject to taints (sāsava), belonging to the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), the form sphere (rūpāvacara), the formless sphere (arūpāvacara): the aggregate of form (rūpakkhandha) … the aggregate of consciousness (viññāṇakkhandha) — these phenomena are dissociated from hindrances but subject to hindrances.
Which phenomena are dissociated from hindrances and not subject to hindrances (anīvaraṇiya)? The paths (magga) not included [in the three spheres] (apariyāpanna), the fruitions of the paths, and the unconditioned element (asaṅkhatā dhātu) — these phenomena are dissociated from hindrances and not subject to hindrances.
