P.: Is the person not apprehended at all times in the real and ultimate sense?
S.: It should not be said thus.
P.: Acknowledge the refutation (niggaha)! If the person is not apprehended in the real and ultimate sense, then indeed, sir, it should be said: "The person is not apprehended at all times in the real and ultimate sense." What you say there — that it should indeed be said, "The person is not apprehended in the real and ultimate sense," but it should not be said, "The person is not apprehended at all times in the real and ultimate sense" — is wrong. But if it should not be said, "The person is not apprehended at all times in the real and ultimate sense," then indeed, sir, it should not be said: "The person is not apprehended in the real and ultimate sense." What you say there — that it should indeed be said, "The person is not apprehended in the real and ultimate sense," but it should not be said, "The person is not apprehended at all times in the real and ultimate sense" — is wrong. …
