Suddhasaṅkhāravāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 1047

[1047] Where bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) does not arise, does mental formation (cittasaṅkhāra) not arise there? In the fourth jhāna (catutthajjhāna), in the form sphere (rūpāvacara), and in the formless sphere (arūpāvacara): there bodily formation does not arise, but it is not the case that mental formation does not arise there. Among non-percipient beings (asaññasatta): there both bodily formation does not arise and mental formation does not arise. Or rather, where mental formation does not arise, does bodily formation not arise there? Yes.
