Suddhasaṅkhāravāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 1073

[1073] For whomever, wherever, verbal formation (vacīsaṅkhāra) will not arise, will mental formation (cittasaṅkhāra) not arise for that one there? For those immediately after whose mind (citta) a final mind (pacchimacitta) without applied thought (vitakka) and sustained thought (vicāra) will arise, who have attained the second jhāna, the third jhāna, or the fourth jhāna — for them, there, verbal formation will not arise; but it is not the case that mental formation will not arise for them there. For those endowed with the final mind and for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā) — for them, there, verbal formation will not arise and mental formation will not arise. Or, for whomever, wherever, mental formation will not arise, will verbal formation not arise for that one there? Yes. ___________
