[1128] For whomever the bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) will cease, will the mental formation (cittasaṅkhāra) cease for that one?
Yes.
Or rather, for whomever the mental formation will cease, will the bodily formation cease for that one?
For sense-sphere (kāmāvacara) beings at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of the final mind (pacchimacitta); for those immediately after whose mind (citta) the final mind of sense-sphere beings will arise; for those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) in the form sphere (rūpāvacara) or the formless sphere (arūpāvacara); and for those who, having been reborn in the form sphere or the formless sphere, will attain final Nibbāna, as these are passing away — for them the mental formation will cease, but the bodily formation will not cease. For the others, both the mental formation will cease and the bodily formation will cease.
