[1139] For whomever, wherever, the bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) will not cease, will the mental formation (cittasaṅkhāra), for that one, there, not cease?
For sense-sphere (kāmāvacara) beings at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of the final mind (pacchimacitta), for those immediately after whose mind the final mind of sense-sphere beings will arise, for those who have attained the fourth jhāna (catutthajjhāna), for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara), and for beings of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara) — for them, there, the bodily formation will not cease, but it is not the case that, for them, there, the mental formation will not cease. At the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the final mind, and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta) — for them, there, both the bodily formation will not cease and the mental formation will not cease.
Or, for whomever, wherever, the mental formation will not cease, will the bodily formation, for that one, there, not cease?
Yes (āmantā).
