[1167] For whom, wherever, the bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) does not cease, will the mental formation (cittasaṅkhāra) of that one, there, not cease?
For all [beings] at the moment of the arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of mind (citta), and at the moment of the dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of mind apart from in-and-out breathing (assāsa-passāsā), the bodily formation does not cease for them there, but it is not the case that the mental formation will not cease for them there. At the moment of the dissolution of the final mind (pacchimacitta), and in the case of non-percipient beings (asaññasattā), the bodily formation does not cease for them there and the mental formation will not cease.
Or else: for whom, wherever, the mental formation will not cease, does the bodily formation of that one, there, not cease?
