Suddhasaṅkhāravāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 1180

[1180] For whomever, wherever, the bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) did not cease, will the mental formation (cittasaṅkhāra) not cease for that one there? For those who have entered the fourth jhāna (catutthajjhāna), for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara), and for beings of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara): for them, there, the bodily formation did not cease, but it is not the case that for them, there, the mental formation will not cease. For those in the form sphere and the formless sphere at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the final mind (pacchimacitta), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā): for them, there, the bodily formation did not cease and the mental formation will not cease. Or, for whomever, wherever, the mental formation will not cease, did the bodily formation not cease for that one there? For those in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara) at the moment of dissolution of the final mind: for them, there, the mental formation will not cease, but it is not the case that for them, there, the bodily formation did not cease. For those in the form sphere and the formless sphere at the moment of dissolution of the final mind, and for non-percipient beings: for them, there, the mental formation will not cease and the bodily formation did not cease.
