[1211] For whomever the bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) does not arise, will the verbal formation (vacīsaṅkhāra) of that one not cease?
For all at the moment of the dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the mind (citta), at the moment of the arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of a mind without in-breaths and out-breaths, for those who have attained cessation (nirodhasamāpanna), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā) — for them the bodily formation does not arise, yet it is not the case that their verbal formation will not cease. At the moment of the dissolution of the final mind (pacchimacitta) accompanied by thought and examination (savitakka-savicāra), for those endowed with a final mind without thought and examination (avitakka-avicāra), and for those immediately after whose mind the final mind without thought and examination will arise — for them the bodily formation does not arise and the verbal formation will not cease.
Or else, for whomever the verbal formation will not cease, does the bodily formation not arise for that one?
Yes (āmantā).
