[1212] For whom the bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) does not arise, will that one's mental formation (cittasaṅkhāra) not cease?
For all [beings] at the moment of the dissolution of mind (citta); at the moment of the arising of mind without in-breaths and out-breaths; for those who have attained cessation (nirodhasamāpanna); and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta) — for these the bodily formation does not arise, but it is not the case that their mental formation will not cease. At the moment of the dissolution of the final mind (pacchimacitta), for these the bodily formation does not arise and the mental formation will not cease.
Or, for whom the mental formation will not cease, does that one's bodily formation not arise?
