[1096] "For whomever the bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) does not arise, will the mental formation (cittasaṅkhāra) not arise for that one?"
For all [beings] at the moment of dissolution of the mind (citta), at the moment of arising of a mind [occurring] without in-and-out breaths, for those who have attained cessation (nirodhasamāpanna), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā) — for these the bodily formation does not arise, but it is not the case that the mental formation will not arise for them. For those possessed of the final mind (pacchimacittasamaṅgī) — for these the bodily formation does not arise, and the mental formation will not arise.
"Or rather, for whomever the mental formation will not arise, does the bodily formation not arise for that one?"
Yes (āmantā).
