[1228] In whom the latent tendency (anusaya) of sensual lust (kāmarāgānusaya) and the latent tendency of repulsion (paṭighānusaya) lie latent, does the latent tendency of conceit (mānānusaya) lie latent in him?

Or else, in whom the latent tendency of conceit lies latent, do the latent tendency of sensual lust and the latent tendency of repulsion lie latent in him?
In the Non-Returner (anāgāmī) the latent tendency of conceit lies latent, but the latent tendency of sensual lust and the latent tendency of repulsion do not lie latent in him. In three persons both the latent tendency of conceit lies latent, and the latent tendency of sensual lust and the latent tendency of repulsion lie latent.
In whom the latent tendency of sensual lust and the latent tendency of repulsion lie latent, does the latent tendency of views (diṭṭhānusaya) … the latent tendency of doubt (vicikicchānusaya) lie latent in him?
In two persons the latent tendency of sensual lust and the latent tendency of repulsion lie latent, but the latent tendency of doubt does not lie latent in them. In the ordinary person (puthujjana) the latent tendency of sensual lust and the latent tendency of repulsion lie latent, and the latent tendency of doubt lies latent.
Or else, in whom the latent tendency of doubt lies latent, do the latent tendency of sensual lust and the latent tendency of repulsion lie latent in him?
