[1334] Wherefrom one is free from the latent tendency of conceit (mānānusaya), is one therefrom free from the latent tendency of views (diṭṭhānusaya) … the latent tendency of doubt (vicikicchānusaya)?
In the case of painful feeling (dukkhā vedanā), one is therefrom free from the latent tendency of conceit, but it is not the case that one is therefrom free from the latent tendency of doubt. In the case of the unincluded (apariyāpanna), one is therefrom both free from the latent tendency of conceit and free from the latent tendency of doubt.
Or else, wherefrom one is free from the latent tendency of doubt, is one therefrom free from the latent tendency of conceit?
Yes.
Wherefrom one is free from the latent tendency of conceit, is one therefrom free from the latent tendency of lust for existence (bhavarāgānusaya)?
Yes.
Or else, wherefrom one is free from the latent tendency of lust for existence, is one therefrom free from the latent tendency of conceit?
In the case of the two feelings in the sense-sphere element (kāmadhātu), one is therefrom free from the latent tendency of lust for existence, but it is not the case that one is therefrom free from the latent tendency of conceit. In the case of painful feeling and of the unincluded, one is therefrom both free from the latent tendency of lust for existence and free from the latent tendency of conceit.
Wherefrom one is free from the latent tendency of conceit, is one therefrom free from the latent tendency of ignorance (avijjānusaya)?
In the case of painful feeling, one is therefrom free from the latent tendency of conceit, but it is not the case that one is therefrom free from the latent tendency of ignorance. In the case of the unincluded, one is therefrom both free from the latent tendency of conceit and free from the latent tendency of ignorance.
Or else, wherefrom one is free from the latent tendency of ignorance, is one therefrom free from the latent tendency of conceit?
