[1348] One who is without the latent tendency of lust for existence (bhavarāgānusaya) with respect to any [place] — is he without the latent tendency of ignorance (avijjānusaya) with respect to that [place]?
Four persons (puggalā) — with respect to the three feelings (vedanā) in the sense-sphere element (kāmadhātu): they are without the latent tendency of lust for existence with respect to those, but it is not the case that they are without the latent tendency of ignorance with respect to those. Those same persons — with respect to the unincluded (apariyāpanna): they are both without the latent tendency of lust for existence and without the latent tendency of ignorance with respect to that. The Arahant is everywhere both without the latent tendency of lust for existence and without the latent tendency of ignorance.
Or: one who is without the latent tendency of ignorance with respect to any [place] — is he without the latent tendency of lust for existence with respect to that [place]?
Yes.
