Uppādavāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 477

[477] For whatever being in whatever plane the eye base (cakkhāyatana) does not arise, will the nose base (ghānāyatana) not arise for that being in that plane? For those who, passing away from the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), are being reborn eyeless (acakkhuka) into the sense sphere, the eye base does not arise for them in that plane, but it is not the case that the nose base will not arise for them in that plane. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense sphere, for those passing away from the form sphere (rūpāvacara), for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā), and for formless beings (arūpā), for them in that plane the eye base does not arise, and neither will the nose base arise. Or, for whatever being in whatever plane the nose base will not arise, does the eye base not arise for that being in that plane? For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn into the sense sphere, and for those who are being reborn into the form sphere, the nose base will not arise for them in that plane, but it is not the case that the eye base does not arise for them in that plane. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense sphere, for those passing away from the form sphere, for non-percipient beings, and for formless beings, for them in that plane the nose base will not arise, and neither does the eye base arise.
