[517] For whomever, wherever, the nose base (ghānāyatana) has never arisen, will the dhamma base (dhammāyatana) not arise for that one there?
For those of the form sphere (rūpāvacara) and those of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), the nose base has never arisen for them there, but it is not the case that the dhamma base will not arise for them there. For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) in the form sphere and in the formless sphere, the nose base has never arisen for them there and the dhamma base will not arise.
Or else, for whomever, wherever, the dhamma base will not arise, has the nose base never arisen for that one there?
For those in their final existence in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), the dhamma base will not arise for them there, but it is not the case that the nose base has never arisen for them there. For those in their final existence in the form sphere and in the formless sphere, the dhamma base will not arise for them there and the nose base has never arisen.
