[534] For whomever the eye base (cakkhāyatana) does not cease, does the ear base (sotāyatana) not cease for that one?
For those without eye but with ear who are passing away, their eye base does not cease, but it is not the case that their ear base does not cease. For all those being reborn, and for those without eye and without ear who are passing away, their eye base does not cease and their ear base does not cease.
Or, for whomever the ear base does not cease, does the eye base not cease for that one?
For those without ear but with eye who are passing away, their ear base does not cease, but it is not the case that their eye base does not cease. For all those being reborn, and for those without ear and without eye who are passing away, their ear base does not cease and their eye base does not cease.
