[535] For whomever the eye base (cakkhāyatana) does not cease, does the nose base (ghānāyatana) of that one not cease?
For those without eye but with nose who are passing away, the eye base does not cease for them, but it is not the case that the nose base does not cease for them. For all who are being reborn, and for those without eye and without nose who are passing away, the eye base does not cease for them and the nose base does not cease.
Or rather, for whomever the nose base does not cease, does the eye base of that one not cease?
For those without nose but with eye who are passing away, the nose base does not cease for them, but it is not the case that the eye base does not cease for them. For all who are being reborn, and for those without nose and without eye who are passing away, the nose base does not cease for them and the eye base does not cease.
