Uppādanirodhavāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 693

[693] For whomever the eye base (cakkhāyatana) does not arise, does the ear base (sotāyatana) not cease for that one? For those with ears who are passing away, the eye base does not arise for them, but it is not the case that the ear base does not cease for them. For those without eyes who are being reborn and for those without ears who are passing away, the eye base does not arise for them and the ear base does not cease. Or rather, for whomever the ear base does not cease, does the eye base not arise for that one? For those with eyes who are being reborn, the ear base does not cease for them, but it is not the case that the eye base does not arise for them. For those without ears who are passing away and for those without eyes who are being reborn, the ear base does not cease for them and the eye base does not arise.
