[537] For whomever the eye base (cakkhāyatana) does not cease (na nirujjhati), does the mind base (manāyatana) not cease for that one?
For those without eye but with mind (citta) who are passing away, their eye base does not cease, but it is not the case that their mind base does not cease. For all who are being reborn, and for those without mind who are passing away, their eye base does not cease and their mind base does not cease.
Or rather, for whomever the mind base does not cease, does the eye base not cease for that one?
Yes (āmantā).
