[594] "For whomever, wherever, the nose sense base (ghānāyatana) ceases, has the mind sense base (manāyatana) of that one ceased there?"
"Yes."
"Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the mind sense base has ceased, does the nose sense base of that one cease there?"
"For those being reborn into the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), for the noseless ones passing away from the sense sphere, for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara), and for beings of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara) — for them there the mind sense base has ceased, but the nose sense base does not cease for them there. For those possessing the nose base who are passing away — for them there the mind sense base has ceased, and the nose sense base ceases."
