Uppādavāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 618

[618] For whomever the nose base (ghānāyatana) ceases, will the form base (rūpāyatana) of that one cease? For those who are attaining final Nibbāna in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), and for those who, having arisen in the formless plane (arūpa), will attain final Nibbāna — as these are passing away, their nose base ceases, but their form base will not cease. For the others, possessed of the nose base, who are passing away, their nose base ceases and their form base will cease. Or, for whomever the form base will cease, does the nose base of that one cease? For all who are being reborn, and for those lacking the nose base who are passing away, their form base will cease, but their nose base does not cease. For those possessed of the nose base who are passing away, their form base will cease and their nose base ceases.
