[655] For whom the eye base (cakkhāyatana) has ceased, will the form base (rūpāyatana) cease for that one?
For those attaining final Nibbāna in five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), for those in the formless (arūpa) who are in their final existence (pacchimabhavika), and for those who, having been reborn in the formless, will attain final Nibbāna, while these are passing away — for them the eye base has ceased, but it is not the case that the form base will cease for them. For the others, the eye base has ceased and the form base will cease.
Or, for whom the form base … ? Yes.
