[668] For whomever, wherever, the nose base (ghānāyatana) did cease, will the mind base (manāyatana) … the dhamma base (dhammāyatana) cease for that one there?
For those attaining final Nibbāna (parinibbāna) in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara): the nose base did cease for them there, but the dhamma base will not cease for them there. For the other sense-sphere beings: both the nose base did cease and the dhamma base will cease for them there.
Or: for whomever, wherever, the dhamma base will cease, did the nose base cease for that one there?
For beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara) and of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara): the dhamma base will cease for them there, but the nose base did not cease for them there. For sense-sphere beings: both the dhamma base will cease and the nose base did cease for them there.
