Uppādavāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 677

[677] For whomever in whatever place the eye base (cakkhāyatana) has not ceased, will the nose base (ghānāyatana) not cease for that one in that place? Yes. Or, for whomever in whatever place the nose base will not cease, has the eye base not ceased for that one in that place? For those who are attaining final Nibbāna in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara) and for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara): the nose base will not cease for them in that place, but it is not the case that the eye base has not ceased for them in that place. For beings of the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa), for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta), and for formless beings (arūpa): for them in that place, both the nose base will not cease and the eye base has not ceased.
