[605] For whomever, wherever, the eye base (cakkhāyatana) does not cease, has that one's form base (rūpāyatana) not ceased?
For those arising in the five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), for those without eye who are passing away from the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta): for them the eye base does not cease there, but it is not the case that for them the form base has not ceased there. For those arising in the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa) and for formless beings (arūpa): for them the eye base does not cease there and the form base has not ceased there.
Or, for whomever, wherever, the form base has not ceased, does that one's eye base not cease there?
For those attaining final Nibbāna (parinibbāna) in the Pure Abodes: for them the form base has not ceased there, but it is not the case that for them the eye base does not cease there. For those arising in the Pure Abodes and for formless beings: for them the form base has not ceased there and the eye base does not cease there.
